2014 China International Paper Technology Exhibition and Conference (CIPTE)", jointly organized by China Paper Association, China Technical Association of Paper Industry and China National Pulp & Paper Research Institute, and operated by China Pulp and Paper Magazines Publisher was held ceremoniously in Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center, Shanghai, China on September 3—5th, 2014. The exhibition and conference achieved great fully success! After years of development, accumulation, CIPTE has become a communication platform of advanced technology and products trusted by the participants and enterprises of paper and related industries. Based on the commitment of organizing the largest, professional international paper exhibition in Asia, there were more than 200 exhibitors from nearly 20 countries and areas participating the exhibition. The exhibition area occupied 8,500 ㎡.

　　The opening ceremony of 2014 CIPTE was held on September 3rd. Industry leaders attending the exhibition opening ceremony included Mr. Qian Guijing, vice chairman of China Light Industry Council; Mr. Chen Xuezhong, chairman of China Paper Association and China Technical Association of Paper Industry; Mr. Cao Zhenlei, vice general manager of Sinolight Corporation; Mr. Cao Chunyu, president of China National Pulp and Paper Research Institute; Mrs. Pirkko Molkentin-Matilainen, president and CEO of Paper Engineers' Association, Finland; Mr. Zhao Wei, CEO of China Paper Association; Mrs. Cao Pufang, advisor to China Paper Association; Mr. Jiang Haibin, vice president and CEO of Shanghai Technical Association of Paper Industry, etc. And some leaders from local associations and famous paper enterprises and exhibitor representatives attended the exhibition opening ceremony. The opening ceremony was chaired by Ms. Lu Baorong, vice president of China National Pulp and Paper Research Institute. 

　　On the opening ceremony, on behalf of the organizers Mr. Cao Chunyu, president of China National Pulp and Paper Research Institute, delivered a welcome speech. He said, "Nowadays, China's paper industry is in the deep adjustment period, and paper enterprises meet lots of difficulties. With the steady promotion of industrial structure adjustment, paper industry is accelerating its step on structure adjustment. In this situation, paper industry needs to strengthen communication, enhance mutual understanding, and use innovative techniques to improve production efficiency. With the development ideas of green, environmental protection, high-efficient and low consumption, 2014 CIPTE will display various innovative results of paper industry. We hope enterprises from home and abroad utilize this platform to focus on new technologies, equipments and processes, and seize the opportunity to accelerate the self-development. It is believed that paper industry will have its brighter future with the attention and support of all friends."

　　Then, Mr. Qian Guijing, vice chairman of China Light Industry Council; Mr. Chen Xuezhong, chairman of China Paper Association and China Technical Association of Paper Industry; Mr. Cao Chunyu, president of China National Pulp and Paper Research Institute; Mrs. Pirkko Molkentin-Matilainen, president and CEO of Paper Engineers' Association, Finland; and Mr. Jiang Haibin, vice president of Shanghai Technical Association of Paper Industry cut the ribbon jointly and officially opened the exhibition. After the opening ceremony, leaders and guests visited the exhibition site together and communicated kindly with the exhibitors.

　　As an influential and well-known professional exhibition, CIPTE has become a good platform for domestic and international paper and related industries such as papermaking equipment, paper chemicals, to communicate and cooperate, as well as display new technologies and discuss the development direction of paper industry. Many most influential enterprises in paper industry both at home and abroad such as Finnish Pavilion, Kadant, A.Celli, PMP, Kandas, Kauko, Walzen, GSPT, Bellmer, BTG, Kumera, Moventas, Goebel, Bekaert, Wefapress, X-rite, MSK, Taiwan Everlight Chemical, Jinan Richlink, Jiangsu Huadong, Zibo Taiding, Jiaozuo Chongyi, Fujian Light Industry Machinery, Shandong Changhua, Liaoyang Paper Machinery, Shanghai Qingliang, Henan Zhongya, Henan Dazhi, Hunan Zhengda, Zhengzhou Yunda, Zhengzhou Leizhan, Zhejiang Huazhang, Sichuan Gaoda, Mianyang Mutual Success, Zhejiang Linuo, etc. exhibited their advanced technologies and products. The technologies and products showed in the exhibition including pulping and papermaking equipment, components, accessories, automation equipment and instruments; all kinds of pulp, paper and paperboard; waste paper treatment technologies and equipment; papermaking chemicals; new technologies and equipment for environmental protection and comprehensive application; raw materials and equipment for specialty paper.

　　During 2014 CIPTE, the international paper technical conference of "CIPTE Conference 2014" was held at meeting room of Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center, China on September 4th, 2014. "CIPTE Conference 2014" was jointly organized by China Technical Association of Paper Industry, Paper Engineers' Association from Finland and China National Pulp and Paper Research Institute, co-organized by Shanghai Technical Association of Paper Industry, and managed by China Pulp and Paper Magazines Publisher. In the conference, experts from China, Finland and other countries deliver presentations on current hot issues including coating, nanocellulose, energy, and other advanced technologies of paper industry. CIPTE Conference focused on technical aspect, all of the topics focused on the common interested issues of the industry. The panel discussion after the presentations was a highlight of the conference. Nearly 260 participants were benefited from the conference. The conference once again became an academic event that scientific and technological workers of paper industry from home and abroad communicated advanced technology and innovations, was highly recognized by the participants.

　　Meanwhile, several seminars were organized by organizers during the 2014 CIPTE. OptiConcept M updating–fit for purpose of market, technology update and highlight the latest solutions and result were introduced by Valmet China; PMP Group's innovate solutions from the intelli-technology® platform bringing paper quality improvement and lowering media consumption was shared by PMP IB (Changzhou) Mach. & Tech. Co., Ltd.; Technologies of best practices for coat drying, automated dynamic cobb absorption in sized paper and board were presented by Solaronics Bekaert, BTG Instruments AB., respectively. Every seminar, the audiences were actively responding to speaker, tried to understand the speaker company's new technology, new equipment, while provided recommendations on its product development; the speaker companies and listeners shared industrial information as well as successful experiences, which reached the desired results. In addition, Valmet China organized carton board and fine paper user clubs to share the industry benchmarks and market information of carton board and fine paper, sum up the experience on energy saving, how to improve the product quality, how to improve and optimize machine efficiency and the machine converting and so on; China Paper Machinery Corporation sponsored the thematic activity of "Independent Innovation the Achievement Future", introduced its developments and technologies to customers and enterprises' representatives. According to these companies, in above activities, the companies ' communication with customers were further enhanced, many questions raised by customers were answered, a lot of valuable advice were collected, and all the information will play an important role in enhancing product development and promoting customer service of the companies.

　　"2014 CIPTE" not only displayed up-to-date technologies and products, but also was a large gathering of elitists of paper industry.
